November
It started with an idea and a pile of big branches. Someone said "Let's build a shelter."
Next they added smaller branches. Everyone was helping out.
Then they filled it in with leaves.
It was a favorite place to play all week! This weekend after it snowed, we noticed that the inside of the debris shelter stayed warm and dry. Too bad the kids weren't here to experience it.
We had a lot of fun on Halloween making leaf masks, carving pumpkins and roasting seeds. We've also been making rock face paint in the creek, experimenting with water ramps in the sandbox, practicing archery, and climbing the dragon trees.
We got out the hot plate and crayons. We watch the crayons melt as we draw on some foil. Then we press a piece of paper on the melted wax to make colorful prints.
