Insects

There's been a lot of interest in insects the past week! Monday's class made a "bug hotel" out of scrap wood and we filled it with pieces of bamboo stalks, pinecones, sticks and leaves. We've been finding centipedes and millipedes throughout the week and identifying them with our insect field guide. We learned that the millipedes we've been seeing defend against predators with a stinky scent!

Thursday's class even found a couple of cicadas staring to emerge.
