February

All of the snow and ice finally melted in February. We tapped more maple trees and boiled lots of syrup this month to have with pancakes and heart shaped waffles for our valentines celebrations. Everyone agreed that the syrup was especially delicious this year!

We've also been spending a lot of time at the bamboo forest and the creek. The bamboo forest is a nice place to go in winter as it feels very enclosed and magical, inspiring lots of pretend play. We've been pretending to be pandas, jaguars, and kitties. The kids also helped saw a bunch of bamboo poles to use as pretend fishing poles and for building fairy houses and other structures.
