Falling Leaves

Autumn has arrived and we've noticed lots of leaves falling, especially from the maple and sycamore trees around basecamp. Whenever a big gust of wind blows everyone stops what they're doing and tries to catch a falling leaf. We've started to rake leaf piles to jump in and used them to play one of our favorite games, Leaf Monster. We've also been making "anywhere art," using different colored leaves and whatever else is around to make patterns and designs right where we find them.

We've been telling stories in the tipi, playing Pass the Story, and singing our favorite spooky songs, as well as harvesting butternut squash from the garden and cooking it over the fire, mixing colors in shaving cream, making spin art with an old record player, playing the Tree Blindfold game, and making mud faces and fairy villages down in the big creek.
